SD03 - San Diego broadcasts for “AMERICAN LIFE”

August 18th, 2008

Another crazy, wild-wooly broadcast from Southern California. These archives are emerging slowly-but-surely.

We made good contact with the great folks at the Rubber Rose shop, a sex-positive, feminist, education-oriented marketplace, selling cool sex-wares and offering community workshops. Suffice it to say, a real jewel in the San Diego cultural landscape, otherwise littered by Targets and Applebees.

We also invited Jake the Lying Bastard, a local indie-radio guy who had previously done work with the San Diego radio collective RadioACTIVE. While RadioACTIVE is taking a bit of a respite, NPR was happy that Jake could come by and share his mad-radio-skillz.

And, as always, the great Sharing is Sexy collective contributed an explosive set to the radio program.

SD02 - San Diego broadcasts for “AMERICAN LIFE”

July 7th, 2008

It’s been a few months since the blog has seen any action from San Diego. Well, now that the AMERICAN LIFE show is officially finished and our amazing stint at the Whitney is over, the blog will be getting some much-needed SoCal attention. We’ve archived all of the American Life broadcasts that happened in San Diego and Tijana, as well as remote broadcasts in Santa Cruz and Shanghai. Over the next week or so, all will be posted. Enjoy!

For the April 26th Broadcast in San Diego, we returned to the neighborhood coffee shop Cream, where we ventured indoors and did our radio thing.
